First held in 1982 the Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run has grown each year, with the 2012 event reaching a record high of 24,089 to reaffirm the race as the largest mass participation sporting event in the country.
About the half marathon
About the 10kGiving people of all ages and abilities the chance to participate, the Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run combines a half marathon and 10k senior races on Sunday 6 October 2013, with a full programme of mini, junior and toddler races on Saturday 5 October at Glasgow Green.
The much-loved senior events are certain to excite the international and club athletes, fun runners and those taking part to raise money for a charity close to their heart.
The 2013 course will again start in George Square and finish on Glasgow Green.
The entry fee will be £25 for the 10k and £30 for the half-marathon.
With six separate races over the weekend, the Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run is the most inclusive race of its kind in the country. It is a fantastic opportunity for family, friends and people of all ages and abilities to participate together.
