The NHS employees, who work in clinical diagnostic labs across three Lanarkshire hospitals, will tackle the Half Marathon as an 18-strong team in support of the hospice. Manjit, 65, and the healthcare professionals are based in Hairmyres, Monklands and Wishaw General.
Manjit, of Carluke, said: “The palliative care facility is a cause close to home for each and every one of us. We see lots of terminally ill patients go to the hospice in Airdrie to be made comfortable towards the end of their lives.
“We’re aiming to raise the profile of St Andrew’s Hospice so the fantastic care provided is recognised on a national level. We will stand side by side at the start line this October, setting off together from George Square.”
Although the Half Marathon is now closed for entries, you can still be part of the action by signing up to the Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run 10k. Find out more and enter at greatscottishrun.com
